On Saturday, we collected shoes to send to Haiti. A few wonderful friends of mine organized a neighborhood shoe drive in conjunction with the Sole 4 Souls Project HAITI organization. Earlier in the week we had passed out flyers telling people to leave shoes they wished to donate on their porch and then we would come around and pick them up and take them to the drop-off location. It was a great way to get our children involved and to help them feel they were doing a little to help the people of Haiti. Of course, there was plenty of complaining and whining to go along with the collection, but we were able to collect a whole car full!
